MAC Lady Bug Lipstick

Few products elicit in me a tangible feeling of happiness by name alone.   MAC Lady Bug is one of them. (see...just got happy)  Not only does the name conjure up imagery of warm spring days spent in a meadow of flowers, but the shade offers those wary of the red lip a great intro into the look.

Lady Bug is a lustre formula, so even though the color look intense in the tube, it applies more sheerly then a regular creme finish.  The result is a glossy tomato red lip that is very wearable to the timid red lip lover and plays up well when layered over a red liner.

While not limited to those of us with warm or yellow undertones, this is a great choice for those who do not feel comfortable in cool or blue based reds.  Being a lustre finish you will not get long hour wear out of this shade, but I saw a good 3-4 hours and it faded into a subtle stain that was not entirely unpleasant.  Not all red lips are so forgiving.  This is part of the permanent range with MAC and well worth taking a peek.

Where to buy:  MAC Cosmetics
