I think I have a cosmic bullseye on my back. In fact I am sure of it, at least where the new colored lip balm trend is concerned. Let me explain.
Familiar with this guy? L'Oreal's Color Riche Balm is a pretty snazzy product. Hydrating, moist, just bitten color..a hint or blush of color if you will. Your lips, only better.
Gorgeous! The perfect berry mauve for a fresh summer look. Innocent, perky, exciting!
Hey whats that picture of your arm doing there...ohh I see, there is a glistening blush of color. Maybe it was subpar lighting.
My lips only b...nope, just my lips. FML Let me tell you my super power. I have the super awesome ability to buy colorless "colored" lip balms. Colored Lip Balms 3 - My naked little lips 0
Final Thoughts
To be fair, almost all the swatches I've seen for L'Oreal Color Riche Balms were lovely. I just have this knack of not buying any of those and diving right into glossy nakedness. This is a comfortable wear, and quite hydrating. I was totally bummed because I love the feel of the balm, I just don't want to spend $8 for shine. Check those swatches before you buy, if you see a color that has some payoff, it is worth picking up.

P.S.
I keep typing blam and it makes me giggle

Oh my goodness, glad to see it's not just me... I bought a pinky-purple light berry colored one of these... And it looks like chapstick on me. Like, the kind that makes your lips look more pale and flat. So I ran right back to Revlon's lip butters :P
ReplyDeleteLOL! I type blam too, and bcak as back ;)
ReplyDeleteyeah, that's a bummer! Frankly, even if some of these are pigmented, inconsistency is a fail in my book. Pass.
