Kick Summer Into High Gear With Some Fyrinnae Bright Shadows

I am working through a ridiculously huge back log of reviews.  I've been such a gamer slacker the last few months.  Now, I need to focus some of my angst back on you all..muahahaha.

We haven't had a Fyrinnae post in a while so here is a punch of color to get you going.

Fyrrinae shadows are complex, richly pigmented and gorgeous.  In my experience they take some practice.  Since the color of most shadows is richly nuanced, you need to take care applying them.  You need to use a patting motion and less of a sweeping motion when you lay down the color or the color can start to separate.  I still have some trouble blending these, but practice makes perfect.  All these shadows are swatched over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy

Bi-Frost is a cool toned banana yellow with gold/blue/green sparkle

Electro Koi

Electro Koi is a rich pumpkin orange with lots of gold sparkle

Wake Not The Dead

Wake Not The Dead is a shimmery orchid with blue/purple sparkle , possibly is discontinued can't find it on website =( Sorry, for the color tease

Fire Opal

Fire Opal is hard to describe.  It is a burnished bronze over a charcoal base. It shifts between orange, copper and red.  It really captures the complexity of opals.  Words and pictures can't do it justice.  This is a color you need to pat on or you will wipe away the awesomeness. Pat this on top of any eyeliner and prepare to's that pretty.

Final Thoughts

Fyrinnae is something every beauty junkie needs to own.  They are in a league of their own and pretty much set the standard for gorgeous indie brand shadows.  As with many smaller indie companies, there is lead time involved with orders.  18-26 days is the current queue time listed, however the average wait time is closer to 2-7days.  Just know that when you order, but trust me, it is worth the wait.

I will find out of Wake Not The Dead is truly discontinued and let you know.  I apologize if it is.  This is what happens when you let reviews pile up for months while you fight epic battles in zombie filled dungeons...I can put that on my resume right?

Where to Buy: Fyrinnae
Price: Samples $2.00 (for 1/3 to 1/4 tsp in 5 gr jar) Full Size $5.90 to $6.35 (for approx 3 grams in a 5 gr jar)

**Update, I just confirmed with Fyrinnae that Wake Not The Dead is in fact discontinued. #bbloggerfauxpaux  Maybe check out Meerkat or Cuddlefish

  1. Oooh, Fire Opal is gorgeous! Thanks for the application tips, I love thorough reviews like that :) And as far as hobbies go, I don't think you have to put makeup above video games! I am not a big gamer, but I enjoy playing once in awhile. I've been revisiting my childhood via Banjo-Kazooie lately... And I just started Yoshi's Story last night, I always wanted it but NEVER got it for the N64. Yay for virtual consoles, emulators, and digital versions of old games that work on current consoles!

    1. Haha, if it didn't become apparent from that comment, I feel compelled to explain that I have the attention span and gaming ability of a 6 year old...

    2. I love you Sarah...ok here is my gamer confession. I once quit a job to stay home and play Mario 64. Hey I was young. Banjooooooo.

    3. Hey, you have to prioritize... Every day I am faced with the decision to either work on my thesis or regress back into childhood via video games... I make the right choice MOST of the time. Most of the time.
