Review: Geek Chic Comsetics Superneutrals

You know 'em, you love 'em...yes the Winchester Boys are back and this time they brought.....makeup??  Why not, if monster kicking badassery doesn't deserve it's own makeup collection, then what does!?

Superneutrals is a Geek Chic Cosmetics collection based on the popular tv show Supernatural.  Supernatural follows Sam and Dean Winchester, monster fighting brothers descended from a long line of hunters.  Together with friends like lovable curmudgeon Bobby and angelic (and hilarious) Castiel, Sam and Dean wander the US fighting demons, ghosts, urban legends and pretty much saving humanity in Deans beloved black 1967 Chevy Impala.

Today I will review four of the ten colors in the Superneutral collection.  This collection has something for every neutral loving guy and gal.

The Righteous Man

The Righteous Man  is a shimmery light greyed sage with copper sparkles.

Born Under a Bad Sign

Born Under a Bad Sign is a light copper penny color with bright blue sparkles

Idjits

Idjits is a dark coppery brown with green and gold chunky  sparkle

King of Hell

King of Hell is an ashy grey with ever so subtle pink undertones and fuchsia sparkles

Final Thoughts

I am in geeky lust with these shadows.  The only drawback is the chunky glitter of Idjits.  I love the glitter, but it migrates badly.  When I was cropping and writing my descriptions I wasn't even sure where the glitter came from it was all over the place.  I wish I could keep the chunky glitter on the lid, but it simply blows away during application.  The base color is lovely on it's own so it wouldn't keep me from buying it again.

Geek Chic Cosmetics is a wickedly fun company.  The collections are nostalgic and hilarious to us beauty fanatics who are also shameless geeks.  Their website and product images are flat out the best of any indie company.  They make some of the prettiest, complicated shadows and they capture that complexity in their product images.  Even their product packaging is like a mini work of art with custom logos for each of their geek friendly collections.

Where to buy: Geek Chic Cosmetics
Price: Samples $1.25 in a plastic clamshell or Full Sized $5.99 in a 5 gram jar

  1. It is really a unique shade, it really comes to life in person. Geek Chic is my favorite for fun use of sparkles.
